California’s Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Gavin Newsom, come in 1st and 3rd in a the NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ poll of preferred Democratic candidates to run for President in 2024, released on Thursday. Sen. Bernie Sanders placed 2nd.
The results show that over 57% of voters in the nation disapprove of Joe Biden as president, with over 60% saying that he shouldn’t run in 2024.
When the question of “If President Biden chose not to run for reelection in 2024, who would you most prefer as the Democratic candidate?” was posed, 16% of respondents chose Harris as the candidate they would want to see most. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) came in second with nearly 11%, then Newsom in third with 9%. Other top candidates with over 5% were Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Those who wanted someone else had a 44%…
