A University of Massachusetts Amherst poll found former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis running neck-and-neck for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination with other potential candidates such as former Vice President Mike Pence falling well behind.

The poll interviewed more than 1,000 Republican voters across the country a year before the presidential nominating contest. Results show in a head-to-head matchup DeSantis would be ahead 51 to 49% but the poll’s margin of average is 3.5%.
