FLORIDA — President Donald Trump told The Wall Street Journal that he plans to vote for Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is seeking re-election, in November.
Trump is registered to vote in Palm Beach, where his private club and permanent residence, Mar-A-Lago, is located, according to Business Insider.
Both Trump and DeSantis have emerged as frontrunners in the 2024 Republican presidential primary with the former president dominating a straw poll Sunday at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa.
Nearly 79 percent of those who responded to the straw poll said they would vote for Trump in 2024, Fox News reported. DeSantis was his closest competitor with 19 percent of respondents saying they would support the governor in a presidential run.
