Former President Donald Trump canceled a rally in North Carolina that was scheduled for Friday in Greensboro after a report that he, his son, and his daughter are scheduled to testify under oath as part of an investigation into Trump’s finances, according to The News & Observer.
In addition to the canceled rally, a new New York Times/Siena College poll showed that nearly half of the Republican Party’s primary voters are looking for someone different as their 2024 presidential candidate.
If the Republican primary was held today, 49% of voters would stick with Trump, while 25% said they’d vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Additionally, 7% would vote for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 6% for former Vice President Mike Pence, 6% for former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and 2% for former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
