DES MOINES, Iowa – U.S. Senator Tim Scott, R-S.C., will headline U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson’s annual BBQ Bash on Sunday, August 28, 2022. The freshman Republican Congresswoman from Marion also announced that U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Gov. Kim Reynolds will also speak at the event at the Linn County Fairgrounds in Central City.
Hinson’s inaugural event in 2021 featured U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and had 700 in attendance. Hinson seeks re-election in the newly drawn Iowa 2nd Congressional District. Her Democratic challenger is State Senator Liz Mathis of Hiawatha.
