Tomorrow, Congressman Adam Schiff will release a new book. “Midnight In Washington: How We Almost Lost Our Democracy And Still Might” is the title of the book. He gives an inside account of former President Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial in it. That’s the one about the now-famous phone conversation with Ukraine’s president. Congressman Schiff spoke with Michel Martin of NPR. Over the last few years, I’ve had several people tell me, “I hope you’re writing this down.” You’d best scribble this down. You’re in the middle of a storm at a critical juncture in history. And I’d constantly say the same thing: when am I going to have time to write down any of this? Then came the epidemic. And I realised that I had wasted a lot of time.
