Rep. Mike Turner named new GOP ranking member of House Intelligence Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy this week appointed Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, as the new ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee.

Turner succeeds Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., who announced this year that he will be leaving Congress to become the CEO of the Trump Media and Technology Group.

“Congressman Turner’s commitment to this country is unwavering,” McCarthy, R-Calif., said in a statement. “Throughout his long tenure on the Intelligence Committee, Mike established himself as a national security leader and ardent supporter of truth.”

Turner’s appointment is effective Jan. 1, upon Nunes’ resignation.

Congressman Turner is a lifelong resident of southwest Ohio. He practiced law in Dayton for over 17 years and in 1991, he opened his own private legal practice specializing in real estate and corporate law.
