Nevada is one of the many states set to vote on whether to elect a new governor this fall. According to the updated political betting odds, incumbent Governor Steve Sisolak is in the midst of a tight race with his Republican challenger, Joe Lombardo.
Democrats don’t have a great recent track record when it comes to the Nevada governorship. Sisolak’s victory back in 2019 ended a string of three consecutive Republican governors for the Silver State.
The last Democrat to hold the seat before Sisolak was Bob Miller, who left his post in 1999.
