New supervisors in Rotterdam and Niskayuna filling out key posts


ROTTERDAM – Show me the numbers.

That’s what incoming Republican Town Supervisor Mollie Collins is asking of professional experts about proposed plans to move Town Hall and the police station to the former Kmart store at the Via Port Rotterdam mall.

“As far as I know, the public – it’s just not the incoming officials – we have never really been given hard figures as to what it would cost to update the current Town Hall and the current police department as opposed to what are we going to be investing down at Rotterdam Square Mall,” Collins, a political neophyte, said earlier this week. 

Rotterdam Square Mall is now known as Via Port Rotterdam. 

Still, Collins, 66, stopped short of saying if she would hit the pause button on the move.
