Dear Sen. McConnell,
I believe I speak for many Americans in saying that I never imagined in my lifetime experiencing a threat to our democracy such as we have been witnessing in these days postelection.
As I write on this day two weeks after the elections, I also believe that our institutions will endure and prevail over the egotism and near delirious machinations of a powerful and unhealthy man, our president. He has demonstrated an astonishingly divisive mania for four years with lies and an outright hostility to truth and decency, let alone justice and integrity. You know it, and we know it.
But through all of this, in these days my deepest cause for fear and profound disillusionment is the silence and cowardice of your leadership.
