Martin Shkreli, the pharmaceutical mogul, has been ordered to pay seven states $65 million.

Martin Shkreli, dubbed the “Pharma Bro,” has been ordered to pay nearly (dollar)65 million to seven states who sued him for antitrust violations, as well as being barred from working in the pharmaceutical industry.

After a trial in which the US Federal Trade Commission and seven states accused Shkreli, the founder of Vyera Pharmaceuticals, of using illegal tactics to keep Daraprim competitors out of the market, US District Judge Denise Cote in Manhattan handed down her decision.

The plaintiff states – New York, California, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia – are now entitled to a payout, but it’s unclear where the funds will come from or what the states will do with them if Shkreli ever pays up.
