As I recall from my high school civics class (yes, they used to teach this stuff!), ours is a representative form of government in the U.S. That is, we elect representatives and senators to represent us when they are considering legislation.
I read in a recent edition of The Columbian that Medicare Part B premiums are going to increase more than $21.60 next year to cover the cost of a new Alzheimer’s drug that has a price tag of more than $1,000 per week. Like the mask/vaccine mandates, it is said to be a positive move for the good of all, even if we don’t personally need it.
But $56,000 per person for a drug? What?
Congress has balked too many times at legislating reduced pricing for drugs, but this is too much! Yes, I know that our members of Congress are outnumbered 3-1 by Big Pharma’s lobbyists, but where are their guts to actually represent us?
The time has come…
