Intense action in Penn State’s Outback Bowl clash with Arkansas

TAMPA — Penn State dropped a 24-10 decision to No. 21 Arkansas in the Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium here Saturday. The Nittany Lions were extremely shorthanded due to opt-outs and injuries, which made the game less competitive down the stretch than it otherwise might have been.

But for serious PSU fans, it provided an early look into the future. Can wideout Parker Washington step up as a capable go-to guy in the place of Jahan Dotson? Can anyone provide the needed pass rush that top sack man Arnold Ebiketie (preparing for the NFL Draft) supplied in the regular season? Has veteran quarterback Sean Clifford regained any of the mobility he seemed to lose due to injury back in October?
