Former President Donald Trump has not yet issued a public statement regarding the verdict in the trial of disgraced socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, though some of his conservative allies have welcomed the outcome.
Maxwell was found guilty on Wednesday on five of six counts relating to assisting Jeffrey Epstein in the sexual abuse of young girls, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors.
Trump had not issued any statement regarding the guilty verdicts as of early Thursday morning and no statement appeared on his official website about the matter.
Some of the former president’s supporters had weighed in, however, celebrating the guilty verdicts and calling for further accountability.
