California Rep. Devin Nunes left Congress to become the CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group, which runs Truth Social, the new social media app intended to compete with Twitter.
Things do not seem to be going well so far.
After a much-maligned February rollout that included a long wait list and various glitches, anonymous Republicans spoke to Politico recently and trashed the app, where its most famous user, Donald Trump, has posted only one “truth,” which is the equivalent of a tweet on the app.
“Other than [Trump], what makes a platform compelling enough to come back over and over again?” a Republican digital strategist told Politico. “How is it different than Twitter and Parler?”
