BANGOR – Senior Little League Regionals has arrived, and like they’ve done for 30 years, the grounds crew at Mansfield Stadium has worked their magic on the diamond.
“We take pride in what we do. This is a landmark in Bangor and we want to keep it beautiful, and we want to make it the best field that the kids can play on,” said Troy Lare of the Mansfield grounds crew team.
Since 1992, Ron St. Pierre has set the tone for his maintenance team down at Mansfield Stadium.
“I’m picky, I want straight lines. We’ve led by example. I’m not afraid to go down on my hands and knees and do it,” St. Pierre said.
Through the years, he’s seen a cast of characters enter his operation, and they’ve all shared one thing in common.
