57% of Democrats say Biden shouldn’t run for reelection in 2024: Poll

A majority of Democratic voters say US President Joe Biden, who was the oldest individual to be inaugurated when he was sworn in January 2021, should not run for the White House in 2024, according to a new poll.

The CNBC All-America Economic Survey, published on Saturday, found that 57 percent of Democratic voters oppose Biden’s reelection bid.

Overall 70 percent of all Americans surveyed, with 66 percent of independents and 86 percent of Republicans also said Biden should not seek a second term.

Biden, who has suffered a dip in his job approval ratings in recent months, has been telling advisers and staff he plans to run again in 2024. Biden would be 82 at the start of his second term if reelected.

The survey also found that a majority of voters do not want former Republican President Donald Trump to seek another term as president.
