All budgets, most propositions approved

Southern Tier voters approved a majority of school budgets and propositions for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Excluding a defeated land proposition by the Johnson City Central School District — asking voters to approve the acquisition of a 17.5-acre parcel adjacent to the bus garage — all local budgets and propositions were approved. 

The counting of absentee ballots for the 2020-2021 school budget vote began at 5 p.m. Tuesday, and most results were released by Wednesday afternoon. 

Districts including the Binghamton City School District and Union-Endicott Central School District broadcast the canvassing of their ballots over Zoom on Tuesday evening.

This overwhelming approval is not unlike past years, which saw all budgets…
