For a time earlier this year, some political pundits wondered if Pennsylvania — and thus Luzerne County — would finally matter in the primary election for president.
But it looks like area voters once again are out of luck when it comes to helping choose a presidential nominee for the Democrat or Republican party.
Voters head to the polls Tuesday and tens of thousands of Luzerne County residents already mailed in ballots.
President Donald Trump, ushered into office following a landslide win in Luzerne County in 2016 that some believe swung the entire nationwide election, has secured enough delegates to win the GOP nomination. And all of former Vice President Joe Biden’s rivals have dropped out of the Democratic race.
