SDSU, Augustana aim for postseason, USF rebuilding



While those four magic words – pitchers and catchers report – are giving hope to baseball fans as winter drags on, college baseball season is already underway.

Augustana, two years removed from winning the Division II national championship and ranked 13th in the preseason Top 25, opened its season last week with a four-game split with No. 21 Arkansas-Monticello. South Dakota State, coming off a 2019 that saw them go 19-10 in Summit League play, kicks off the new season this weekend at Dallas Baptist, while a rebuilding USF squad opens 2020 this weekend in Colorado.
