Medina warms up Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, 69-58 vs. Keystone: Tuesday’s boys basketball roundup


CLEVELAND, Ohio — Before the Cavaliers took to the court Tuesday night, Kyle Szumski and Medina warmed up Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse with a 69-58 win vs. Keystone.

Szumski scored 21 points to lead the Bees, who are No. 9 in the boys basketball rankings. He helped Medina (2-0) pull away with a 24-13 third quarter. Junior guard Corey Tripp added 13 points.

Kollin Roddick led Keystone with 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Sean Sutterlee also hit three 3s and added 13 points for the Wildcats.

No. 5 Green 72, Nordonia 41: Last season’s regional finalists improved to 2-0.

Warren Harding 74, No. 6 Cleveland Heights 68: The Tigers (1-2) dropped their second straight game after a thriller Sunday night vs. Shaker Heights.

This time, Harding’s Tyirq Ivory’s game-high 29 points for the Raiders proved too much for Heights in its first road game.
