House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced Friday that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) will be placed on the House Intelligence Committee for the duration of the impeachment inquiry.
Jordan currently serves as the ranking member on the Oversight and Reform Committee and is one of President Trump’s most vocal defenders in the House.
“I am appointing @Jim_Jordan to the Intelligence Committee—which has now become the Impeachment Committee—where he will continue fighting for fairness and truth,” McCarthy tweeted.
Jim Jordan will temporarily replace Rep. Rick Crawford‘s (R-Ark.) on the Intelligence panel as House Democrats proceed their investigation into President Trump’s phone call with Ukraine and begin holding public hearings next week for their inquiry.
“@RepRickCrawford has been an exemplary member of the committee and will rejoin it when this Democrat charade is over,” he added.
