An engaged couple won the men’s and women’s divisions of the Hog Day Stampede on Saturday morning.
Maggie Schlindwein, 24, of Geneseo won the women’s division and John Sullivan, 25, of Milwaukee won the men’s division. Schlindwein finished in 27 minutes, 54 seconds. Sullivan came in at 22:48, just ahead of Jake Schlindwein, 28, of Milwaukee at 23:03.
Third overall was Sam Showman, 39, of Yates City in 24:03.
The other top women finishers were Jennifer Ince, 41, of Bloomington, who was second in 28:32, and Crystal Kyle, 55, of Peoria, who was third in 29:55.
In the mile race, Ty Getz, 13, of Kewanee was first overall in 5:29. Kennady Anderson, 13, of Kewanee was second overall and the top women’s finisher in 5:36. Blake Johnston, 13, of Kewanee was third overall in 5:43 and Dylan Armstrong, 15 of Kewanee was fourth overall in 5:44.
