‘If My State Can’t Take Care of its Own… How Can it Take Care of More’


Recent comments by the legendary songstress Cher have been welcome by Donald Trump Jr. as a sign her sympathies lie with the Republican Party.

The singer and actor often uses social media to express liberal views and criticize President Donald Trump. However, she recently wrote on Twitter how concerned she was about homelessness in Los Angeles and its relationship to immigration.

She wrote: “I understand struggling immigrants but my city isn’t taking care of its own.”

She went on to discuss what she said was in excess of 50,000 people living on the streets “below the poverty line and hungry.” Her estimate of the number of homeless in LA chimes with figures released in January by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, NPR reported.
